Anyway, here's my problem....
My company is finally upgrading our computers and operating systems. (from Win 2000 to XP) As part of their new security protocols, they are locking out the ability to alter the amount of time that the computer locks (15 min.). Unfortunately, they are also locking out the ability to choose the screensaver! This sucks cuz I have a really cool screensaver!
My question...is there ANY way to enable the screensaver option after they have it locked out? (When you go to Properties, the button is not highlighted.)
Help me, Jor, -mega, and anybody else.....you're my only hope....

Even if you COULD do it, the first time someone saw an "unauthorized" screensaver on your monitor, you'd be found out. No one could keep a secret like that, they'd want to choose their favorite also, so they'd ask how you did it (or worse yet, ask the techie to change theirs "also"). Just ain't worth it to see the Sports Illustrated screenshow for the thousandth time, buddy.

they did that to us at work too... but i still have good wallpaper but everything else sucks!

Jor will correct me if I am wrong, but if they are pushing it out from the server side on the Domain conroller, there isn't anything you can do to change it.
Domain security policies will superceed those on the local box, so even if you log in locally with the local admin account and make the changes, when you connect to the Domain controller it will overwrite those settings.
There might be a way to override the settings by hacking into the registry and changing the values at that level, but they are locking down access at the Domain Group Policy level, then they will surely have locked edit access tot he Registry Hive for that to happen.
Sorry bud, you might have to live with it.
There are some free tools out there that will "keep alive the connection" of the desktop and prevent the screen saver from kicking in, I'll search if you think those will hlep, but make sure things like that won't go against your local security procedures and get your ass canned [img]wink.gif[/img]
And on another note - I just now realized I haven't sent the CD out to you! [img]redface.gif[/img] I'll get right on that!
